Toys to Retirement Weekly Wrap-Up #47
Hello friends,
What a week! I’ve been non-stop prepping, organizing, and of course doing some sourcing like my life depends on it.
Currently have around 23,000 units ready to rip between Walmart and Amazon (~14,000 Walmart, ~9,000 Amazon) and plenty more back stock to keep sending in once certain SKUs sell out.
Holiday tables are starting to hit discount stores. Q4 fees have begun. The post office is getting crowded.
It’s almost the most magical time of the year.
One of the Most Important Videos to Watch For Q4
As promised earlier in the year, I absolutely needed to share my philosophy on repricing in Q4. It’s arguably just as profitable as sourcing, and you can make thousands more by employing some basic strategies.
I cover my approach in a must-watch 20-minute video here:
Clarification on McFarlane/Mattel DC License
For those interested in the McFarlane/Mattel transition, here is a must read article in regards to the timing of the hand off.
This is a very important transition to be paying attention to if you’re serious about toy investing. McFarlane and their DC line has produced several of the best toy investments of the last few years — nothing to scoff at!
Do with this information what you will.
Hasbro Price Increases… Again
Hasbro is always quick to act on the latest tariff news, happy to raise prices far behind their expected impact and then using tariffs as an excuse.
How else can they justify raising MSRP on products that are already in-stock on their website?!
Expect to see a $3 increase on regular Marvel Legends, Black Series, and of course other increases on different lines as well.
Curious to see if this will impact initial pre-orders, resulting in less supply.
Time will tell…
Reminder to Close/Retire Old Listings
Friendly reminder that when you have down time, it’s never a bad idea to CLOSE AND THEN DELETE your old listings on Amazon, or RETIRE your old listings on Walmart.
Especially during Q4 when every second should be spent on profitable activities, nothing is more frustrating than having a random infringement pop up on an old item you haven’t sold in years.
This is the time of year where black hat actors come out to play, modifying old listings, changing brand names, and all other sorts of trickery. Stop the problem before it pops up, and clear out your old listings so you have minimal risk of any time-sucks in this department this coming Q4.
