Toys to Retirement Weekly Wrap-Up #32
Hello friends,
An exciting week in the toy world with some pretty cool reveals.
New Marvel Legends Fantastic 4 and Gamerverse Waves
An absolutely stunning wave of reveals by Hasbro this week. Fan sentiment is high for the Gamerverse wave, and while the Fantastic Four wave is solid for what it is, I just don’t think they have the ‘it’ factor that these Marvel vs. Capcom figures have.
There are several highlights to shout out.
A great looking Captain America with a shield that isn’t broken
A short and BEEFY Wolverine with an angry face
BLUE Venom, highly requested (although would be nice if he was beefier)
A super deluxe Juggernaut with butterfly joints
Basically, a lot of things that will appeal not only to casual fans, but diehard Marvel collectors as well.
Various packs in this wave will be exclusive to some degree (music to our ears).

Surviving Slow Season
You’ve heard me mention how slow it is this time of year as someone that exclusively sells toys. I have been getting quite a few DMs about ‘what to do when it’s slow’, so I put together a small article on what I’m personally doing here:
Pokemon Destined Rivals Release Day
Target. Best Buy. Barnes & Noble. Walmart. Gamestop.
All the major retailers have been stocking Destined Rivals today in some capacity, along with other random restocks like Blooming Waters.
Whether you’re an investor or a flipper, make sure to check your TCG aisles when out doing some retail arbitrage.
If you’re an investor, don’t FOMO in above MSRP quite yet. This set will be printed for two years and there will be plenty of opportunities for the market to cool off and buy stuff at a better price.
Awesome LEGO GWP
Tomorrow is the last day to capitalize on this AWESOME GWP with a completely reasonable threshold. Hopefully you’ve identified some exclusives you’re interested in by now, and can start buying a tad early if capital allows it.
It will also be the last day to use your points on this insanely valuable bundle in the rewards section:
Last-Minute Toy Resets at Target
We are about to enter into Q3, meaning several retailers are resetting their displays for the summer months. I’ve been having some great luck picking up some severely discounted Jurassic figures at Target (70% off).
Some profitable now on both Amazon on Walmart. Some profitable on just Walmart. Some won’t be profitable for a year but have high upside.
Picking up clearance like this is always a strong way to source toys, but even more so when you have a catalyst in the near future to drive extra interest in the franchise (Jurassic World Rebirth).
Retail arbitrage is really strong right now. The social media sellers have convinced people for years that Amazon can be done ‘easily’ from your home and you never have to leave. A lot of sellers have forgotten retail arbitrage exists, or are simply too lazy to do it.
I haven’t done a ton of RA in recent years, but with the current climate on Amazon and Walmart it has become a lot more appealing. Especially if you study toys, you can make your trips quick as you already know what to keep your eye out for.
Today and tomorrow should have some of the best discounts as Target wants their Q2 stuff gone by June 1.
Happy hunting…
Going to wrap things up here friends, hope everyone has a wonderful end to the month and wow — ONE quarter away from Q4!
