Hello friends,
Happy March! 2025 is flying by, for better or for worse. I think for better, because every day that breezes by gets us another day closer to Q4. While sales are still solid, this is the point in the year where I start to see a bit of a decline. No more holiday urgency, people eagerly awaiting tax returns, and this year in particular has a lot of uncertainty in the economy.
We press on though, and never take our eyes off the prize.
March 2025 LEGO Update
Earlier this week I did an update on some current LEGO happenings. There are a surprising number of sets that are already discontinued still sitting on the virtual and physical store shelves. I list off some of the ones I find most interesting that are worth monitoring for a discount, and some you may even want to consider paying full MSRP for. Check it out here:

Daredevil: Born Again Debut
After a several year hiatus, Matt Murdock is back! I haven’t watched myself, but the show has opened with solid reviews after just a couple of episodes (87% positive fan reviews on Rotten Tomatoes). Daredevil has always been one of those Marvel heroes who is just a notch below Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Deadpool in popularity, and there is a very real possibility that this show could lead into a bigger screen movie which could catapult him to new heights.
To go along with the debut of the show, Hasbro unveiled an upcoming Marvel Legends Daredevil figure. The renderings look great, and fans are excited. We will see if the actual product lives up to the renderings, but the colors look accurate, butterfly joints are present, and it’s an overall fantastic looking figure. The only thing missing would be an alternate head of Matt Murdock, but can’t get everything! I encourage everyone to look at how previous Daredevil figures are performing a couple of years after release…
Pokemon 151 Mini Tin Bundles Restocking
If you’re into the Pokemon investing game, be paying close attention to your Costco’s over the next few days. I called my local one and confirmed they will be restocking this hit product TOMORROW. Limit seems to be 2 across the nation from what I’ve seen, so you actually have a chance of getting one if you’re there at store opening without getting into a fist fight. Great investment piece.
McFarlane and the DC License
You may have heard the news last week that Mattel has won the global rights to produce DC toys in every form, but there was uncertainty on whether McFarlane would also continue producing DC. Todd McFarlane did an interview from New York Toy Fair speaking on the topic, and expects to still produce DC in some capacity, despite the deal. He said things are still being ironed out, with lots more details to come over the year. Personally, I would be surprised if Mattel allows them to compete on the action figure side of things. I don’t think it would make sense to purchase the very expensive rights to DC, just to allow the original holder to continue making competing products (even if the scale was different). I think the more likely outcome is McFarlane will remain doing statues of DC figures, or maybe being able to keep the Collector Edition line, but I’m just guessing. Time will tell. Not sure how to feel about it yet, but hoping to hear more news in the near future.
