Toys to Retirement Weekly Wrap-Up #44
Hello friends,
Inching closer to our Superbowl of Q4… while also inching closer to the ‘moment of truth’ when it comes to CPC docs.
Are they done rolling out on Walmart? Have they only just begun on Amazon? Will any brands be the ‘exception’? Hopefully these questions and more start to get answered next week, as the 25th is the announced Walmart deadline for submissions.
But enough doom and gloom, let’s talk toys.
Some Under-Valued Pokemon Items
Been laying low with regular sourcing and doing more eBay to eBay Pokemon flips and investing. Put out a quick video highlighting some items I think are under-valued in this current market, as long as the bull run continues (which I think it does, well into next year). Check it out here:
McFarlane On Fire
Todd McFarlane is pumping out some of his best work these days, with less than a year remaining on his DC license. This is a great example of what I mean when I say you should be utilizing social media to source (remember my article on that?).
In the last 48 hours, several SKUs have been available for just mere minutes before pre-selling out. Fan sentiment/reactions were extremely positive to the initial reveals, indicating that some of the figures from this theatrical wave, along with some figures from yesterday’s classic wave, were worth ordering.
Make sure to be paying attention to the upcoming releases!
LEGO Re-Launching a Great GWP
This LOTR GWP originally released alongside ‘The Shire’ set, and is back again under the same condition — simply purchase The Shire and the set is yours. I normally don’t bother with new sets, but it seems like a relatively safe way to make some lunch money as it’s selling daily for $70 on eBay. You’ll have no problem moving the actual set locally for cash during the holidays or sooner.
We all love free money right?!
Highly Controversial Figure On Sale
The highly controversial Marvel Legends Maximum Hulk figure is on sale on Amazon for the same price or better than most wholesale distributors.
The figure unfortunately boasts a higher return rate than other figures due to the use of a rubber chest that has a steady rate of ripping compared to regular plastic.
Fans have been torn on this figure ever since it was revealed, but it still is consistently staying in the sub-10k rank range.
What do we think folks? Will the demand for Hulk outweigh the negatives of this figure and catapult it this Q4, or is this one destined for Ollie’s?
