Hello friends,
LEGO buying season is already here, with many discounts already appearing and many more to come.
It’s been a turbulent year, filled with uncertainty. There’s no denying that the CPC risk is looming over all of our heads. How you tackle this threat is a very personal decision. Do you believe Amazon and Walmart will truly follow through on nuking most 12 and under retired LEGO next year? Are you restricted on Amazon and only have Walmart as an outlet? Are you willing to pay $1000+ per set to have it tested if it comes down to it? What is your exit strategy if the worst happens?
These are questions you need to answer for yourself, and then determine if you still deem it worth the risk to buy sets under the age of 12 (or even just LEGO in general). Champions are made during these sorts of uncertain times, but people also can quickly crumble in worst case scenarios.
Keep those things in mind if you decide to buy LEGO this year.
Low-Risk Plays (Sets that are 12+ and likely won’t be hit by CPC requests)
There are lots of 12+ plays you can make this year, everything from NINJAGO City Markets to Architecture New York to holiday-themed sets like the Christmas Tree. There is nothing wrong with these, but as we all know we each have different preferred timelines and profit goals. With that being said, I don’t like holding LEGO for more than a year if I don’t have to. So I’m most excited about the following 12+ sets, though I will pivot if great deals pop up on other 12+ sets.
